In the Developer Relations space it’s not uncommon to take a position at a company where you’re either the first DevRel, or you’re joining a new team, or taking over a new team. However that fits, these are the first actions I take.

Preparing a talk to give anywhere is a daunting experience, but giving someone else’s talk takes that to a whole new level. Following these steps will not magically make it a great talk, but they will help you prepare - and maybe, just maybe, the talk will become one that you begin to give because it’s become your own.
